The Stoke by Nayland Academy Trust (SBNAT) is delighted to announce that the Seckford Foundation, one of Suffolk’s oldest charity foundations, has agreed to join forces to submit an application for an 11 - 16 Free School to open in 2013.
The 400 year old Seckford Foundation has an ongoing commitment to improve young people’s education and outcomes in this region of Suffolk. It has a wealth of experience, including the management of Woodbridge School, Almshouses for the elderly and a small grants programme for local community groups and individuals. It also successfully applied to run two Suffolk based Free Schools, at Saxmundham and Beccles, which will open in September 2012. The proposed school, Stoke by Nayland Free School, will undoubtedly benefit from the Foundation's time and experience.
The vision for the proposed school, which will improve choice for parents and young people, will be greatly enhanced by working with the Foundation.
