The curriculum will be designed to allow pupils, if they want to, to gain the English Baccalaureate, or EBacc. This was introduced by the Department for Education in 2010 and is awarded when pupils have achieved a GCSE grade C or better across a core of academic subjects: English, mathematics, history or geography, science and a modern language.
Stoke by Nayland Free School will also offer additional subjects so that pupils become rounded, well-educated individuals who are prepared and able to make a contribution to the world.
